There are 7 different categories of names and pretty much every brand folds within one of these

Brands like Disney, Burberry, Adidas (although unique because its name is derived from company's founder Adolf Dassler). Embodying the visions and wishes of their followers.

  1. DESCRIPTIVE

Extrade, TheHomeDepot, Turkish Airlines. Explaining exactly the kind of work they do.

  1. ACRONYM
Kentucky fried chicken

Kentucky switched to the acronym because fried chicken didnt seem to healthy

  1. SUGGESTIVE

Real : Uber- Outstanding example, Slack... (Hard to find real words examples because most are taken)

Composite : Facebook, Ray-Ban (Memorable)

Invented : Pinterest (unique), but have to be nicely composited

  1. ASSOCIATIVE
Amazon (worlds larget retailer

>>World's largest river--->therefore biggest selection of books, clothes, etc...

NON-ENGLISH, f.e. HULU or LEGO are nice examples.

  1. ABSTRACT: ROLEX - We all know the brand but it has no real meaning, however we all associate it with premium quality. Great example of word power.
